Week 1 down

I made it!!!
through the first week of school that is. Not that I had any doubts about it but it has been awile (like three years).
Indiana University, or IU as it is lovingly referred to by everyone up here, is a beacon of light here in the town of Bloomington.
aw...

The school absolutely dominates the town, which I think is a pretty good deal only because everyone is working more or less towards the same goal(s). The town folk are pretty helpful, although I must say the drivers up here need to take some driving lessons (its really bad, too many close calls in too little time).

Most of my Classes are spent in discussion debating provoking trends, and elements of music, and music education, with the purpose being not just to pass the class, but to actually stimulate thought, ideas, and hopefully change.
I am very, very, happy here.

I'm even starting to make friends!!!
YAY
(sorry i'm getting a bit beside myself)

vibrancy surrounds me

Welcome to Broomington!

I'm here, let the learning begin!

So far I'm really impressed with the professionalism of the IU students, everyone presents themselves with such purpose and direction.

Not much to say or report school doesn't begin until Monday. I do miss my people back in South Carolina, not the weather though (sorry, the winter is right around the corner ya'll). Take care and keep in touch.

**The title is dedicated to my Dad who sent me an overnite package with the city "Broomington" on the address. I live in Bloomington :-)
